Spot on. I got this about two years ago for considerably less, it would be a great $200-250 chair. At 499…keep shopping around.
@cassin113 жыл бұрын
The review is spot on. This chair is made of ABS/plastics from the roller all the way up to the head rest except for the base plate. Mine just arrived today and fortunately I only paid $313 shipped. The box is labeled Ergochair 2 and says made in China. Autonomous rebrands generic product from China and ask 2X the price. The correct price point for this is $300 or less in my opinion. However, I find the chair comfortable. I'm 5'8" and it's perfect. The design is very good and modern. If the original manufacturer used premium materials (steel, aluminum, high density foam), and fixed the lousy arm and head rests it can command $1000 selling price. The armrest pad stiffness and shape are fine. I prefer stiff pads than marshmallow soft. I don't expect this chair to last 5 years.

Sold as the "Contract 24/7 Posture Mesh Office Chair" here in the UK for ~£250. Meanwhile Autonomous are asking £479 for thier Ergochair Pro. The only difference I can see is Autonomous use an upgraded base, which while welcome, is probably not worth £200.
@TienTran-uq6to2 жыл бұрын
On alibaba you can find the same chair like what autonomous is selling with cheaper price if you buy a lot of it. The problem is i dont think they copied autonomous design like some people said because they offer you a lot of upgrade from cheap to premium components like seat base material, piston, weight and tilt mechanism... like a real manufacturer. In my country some seller import the same chair from china and fake their R&D phase like what autonomous did with their kickstarter campaign. What a joke

I bought this chair last month and true to you review, the quality of the material is really low. The meshed back and head rest developed lint balls within two days, it was so embarrassing that all my hair and shirt would be full of lint. I contacted them and they apologized that it was a mistake with that particular product and I was sent a replacement. After installing and using the replacement for two days, the same lint balls appeared, I contacted them again and asked for a refund. They indicated it's the mesh back rest material that caused it and it was rare with other products and I can try the non-mesh back rest version. They have agreed to refund my money.

I had an ergochair 2 for about a year, and the cons on this list really really glare with ownership. I think mine was only ~$350 but even at that price the chair is quite poor in quality. From the day I first got it, ends of the mesh would break free and poke me in the sides which is like being poked with a needle. The aggressive jutting out lumbar also become very uncomfortable after about 45 minutes as well. Although the headrest is nice, its movement mechanism is terrible and really highlights how poor the chair is as a whole. I ended up replacing it with an embody from herman miller, and the 2 could not be further apart. It is quite a jump in price, but the embody really shows what a high-end ergonomic chair is especially when compared to the ergochair

The return policy sounds nice, but in practice, the chair is actually impossible to disassemble. The average person will not be able to separate the gas lift and base components after putting them together. I tried for hours to disassemble this chair, but ultimately was not able to. Take this with a grain of salt. It says 30 days free return, but keep in mind that depends on you being able to disassemble and repackage the chair.
