It'd be interesting to see how much pressure one of the pre-2010 Finnish soda bottles -- the thick-walled returnable/reusable ones -- would be able to take. I remember dropping a full one of those off of an apartment building balcony by accident (while drunk, obviously) and it just bounced off of asphalt.

We had those in Sweden too. We used to make bottlerockets out of them. They could hold about 18-20 bars before we released them. They flew crazy high (50-60m) and left like 20-30cm deep holes in the ground from the water spraying out during launch.
