As a 9 years PR player I was very optimistic about this mod, but it turned out to be a total shit that have nothing to do realism or simulation, tons of historical mistake and wrong characteristics of weapons. As you don't even have a clear plans for development, while U.S. got it's Huey, Russians still have no Mi-8 for transport, Bushmaster on LAV is less powerful than the 2A42 on BMP-2 but yet still 2 BMP-2s couldn't destroyed that LAV. Focus on realism and you will get many people in, starting with me

The authenticity part has to do with how DICE built Battlefield 3 from the first place. Considering the game took place "in the future", they chose to not port Blackhawks and Bradleys from Bad Company 2 in favor for more "cool looking" modern vehicles. All the equipment that could've helped more with immersion has unfortunetly went to Medal of Honor 2010 instead... Also keep in-mind that unlike Battlefield 2, This game featured no official mod support (in-fact, EA has been pretty sassy about modifying ANYTHING in this game) and required years of reverse engineering JUST to make it this far. The best thing the developers could do atm is working with what they have, altering DICE's arcadey gimmicks while also making sure it won't crash your system mid-round. This not to say that your critisism isn't valid, the mod is far from being perfect and may take another 18 months to receive a satisfying major overhaul.
