The other thing I realized is that for Level 53, pressing 'z' cycles you between *three* different characters (because Ice Cube is there too), which means the toss-catch-toss technique is even harder to do. (Since 1/3 of the time, the control will be in the irrelevant character)

Thanks for making this, I am extremely honored to be recognized for doing this 😁 I may have done a lot with this game, but this might be one of my most important accomplishments yet, and I'm very proud of it. The entire game is beatable at long last!! As a side note, I want to shoutout the one who made this all possible: Coppersalts ("A Box of Snake Mice" on KZbin) began the first ever proper TAS of the game in the past year, and the current state of the TAS has been uploaded to her channel (with a time of 4:43!?!). More relevant here, she was the one who discovered the wall clips. Wall clips have absolutely changed the game, and this level immediately went from absolutely impossible for a human to actually being done because of them. What a legend, Coppersalts is very underrated 💯🤙

Yeah, this isn't the first time the level was beaten; the recording for the first time it was beaten had an issue that caused only the top-left of the screen to actually be captured. This is maybe the 4th time I've beaten it, and it's the only one I've uploaded to the internet so far. (For the record, I'm so far still the only one to beat the level, though that could change soon.)

I'm so happy to see KorZen beat Level 53! It's great to it beaten in real time after 10 years! Here's the explanation of how the wall clip works: If your right edge is between 0 and 0.01 pixels (exclusive) from the left edge of a block and have a horizontal velocity of 0, you will clip continuously into the wall and can at any point move to the right to go through it. This was originally thought to be TAS only, but it has recently been done by hand in some individual level speedruns of the game. coppersalts has been recently finding humanly viable setups for it, which made beating Level 53 possible. Oh also I'm on a hiatus from speedrunning the game, I'm speedrunning Mario Kart 8 Deluxe now (though me coming back is not out of the question). I want to get under 15 minutes sometime but I'm not sure how much lower I could go, I'm not that good at mashing grab boosting too.

Intentionally humanly impossible levels almost all have around the same history, level 53 to me has similar history to a Super Mario World boss from the ROM Hack Cool or Cruel being the Makjang Cheeseburger as they both have 2 confirmed completions on KZbin, one being a TAS and the other being a human run.
