I think if the tires where air down the truck would have more traction. Also, use low range and second drive. Unless its a manual.

Just because they're rated for 80 psi doesn't mean you have to fill them that high. Bet he has to replace his ball joints every year. Softer tires mean a softer ride and great at absorbing all the little bumps and improves traction. Although it sacrifices fuel economy on the highway.

They are supposed to be 38 psi for normal road. Drop down to 30 for off road

All terrain tires are not for all terrains, ironically. They’re for highways and maybe dirt path roads. If you want mud/snow tires just get off-road tires with spaced out lugs. The ko2s are really good for highways, not slippery slopes.

I agree about slopes, but surprisingly it was doing very well on snow, even packed snow and ice (up to the point), main problem was fallowing guys on 40-42 inch tires

I use 20psi for my Tacoma with duratrac. 80psi max for that tire

I hate those tires. People stop buying KO2’s they are outdated, there is much better tires to be have on you vehicle now a days. And they horrible in wet, snowy or muddy conditions. Also they just come apart with chunks of tread flying off

I have BFG KO2s on my dodge ram 2500 long bed 6.7 diesel with manual transmission and I used my truck to tow cars with single car trailer and I put 80 k miles for past 2 years and still have about 35% of tread and it did great on snow, tire tread looks aggressive but they are surprisingly quiet on the highway.

Definitely lower psi. If those are E rated you should start at the highest 20, but 15 or even lower. I've run 8 on a jeep with no beadlocks. But if that is all ice may not help much.
