In Asia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Japan, South Korea and Australia are the 5 best teams in Asian Football. There is an argument to add Iraq instead of Saudi Arabia because sometimes Saudi Arabia is just really bad but then Iraq has the same problem. Iran is pretty solid in Asian football, mainly because Iran has consistent play, Australia I think is among the best but only our 2006 World Cup team matches up with the greats of European and South American football and currently I feel like Australia is definitely like 5th in terms of the best teams of Asia for our current squad.

@@lilgeez587 It's a bit of a long explanation for Football because yes Australia was originally part of the OFC qualifying rounds when the OFC winners would face off against CONMEBOL 5th place in a playoff to enter the world cup. Our best World Cup run came off against a win against Uruguay in the playoff as John Aloisi scored the winning penalty in the penalty shootout after both teams won their home legs 1-0. Now OFC is pretty easy to win for Australia and we consistently topped the table and had to face off against the South American 5th place so Australia often would not make the World Cup. Australia was moved to the Asian Cup for basically brand recognition reasons in part because no one thinks of OFC nations as good recognizable Football nations at all. Like including in these games, I haven't seen BFord play any nations that really come from the OFC except if I'm forgetting Vanuatu I think, I'm not sure, all I know is Raphael Leai plays for Vanuatu. That was probably the biggest reason because Australia plays in the AFC everyone actually knows of Australia in Football, if we still played in the OFC qualifiers you can bet everyone from every other country would basically forget Australia exists in Football.
