I love Capcom! Back when i played Street Fighter on weekends! Had to travel 50 miles from my home to the Arcade and spent 3 hours there! I had to save money and lie a lot because of that !😎😂

Oh wow dude this video is awesome. Wow so many games I never even knew of. But damn capcom made such good oldies like the mvc and power stone games were so legit. Also that alien vs predator game man. I wish there was a way to play that online with other people.

Yeah, Capcom has some amazing arcade titles; My favorite thing to play when i was young was Cadillacs and Dinosaurs.

Black Tiger was my big Capcom game! I got to where I could beat Black Tiger on one quarter, in about 45 minutes, and collecting all the secrets (and I'm pretty sure that I got them all). I was a bored teenager with a steady paycheck, plenty of time on my hands and not enough sense to save my money for the future. At least the Black Tiger game at Imo's Pizza in Hazelwood, Missouri _never_ went hungry! ;-)

@TheDutchGhost7 жыл бұрын
Back in the 80s and the 90s they and Konami (and some other publishers/developers) ruled the arcade market and the home console market (even a few decent home computer ports and original titles). Look at what state they are in now :( It is not that Capcom can't make decent new games if it wants too but it doesn't seem to want to try any more, preferring to rely on milking its past. Or it keeps new titles in Japan (I am really really disappointed that E.X. Troopers never came to the West. I don't care how Anima/Manga trope ish it may be, it looks like a lot of fun to play)
@MidBoss6667 жыл бұрын
+TheDutchGhost One word, "piracy". If you check the sales rates for some of their supposedly popular titles such as MegaMan or DarkStalkers, you'll find those have actually sold very poorly (just as an example, the completely mediocre RE6 has outsold the whole MegaMan classic series). And most people keep forgetting, they are a company, if they do not make a profit, they can't pay their employee, and contrary to popular belief, it's not like employees get paid no matter how badly the game sells, the profit from the game (or lack of it) directly impacts how much those people will earn. In the times where arcades were popular, they had a lot of income from arcade machines, but now when arcades have mostly died out, Capcom and other companies like them, had to shift to something else wince the honest way, as in just releasing good games, didn't seem to work.

Maaaaan... this is so saaaad..... look at what capcom was.... this makes me remember the days games where made with fun in mind, when capcom would make awesome games like resident evil 4 or viewtiful Joe.... what happened?
@bframe7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Capcom ain't the old Capcom anymore but they still make some solid titles; For example, i think the latest Resident Evil is fantastic.
@pedroazevedo22997 жыл бұрын
bframe I don't know, for me the latest resident evil was too diferent from the older ones
@bframe7 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is true, but on the upside it toned down the action and focused more on exploration and survival
@MidBoss6667 жыл бұрын
+Pedro Azevedo Capcom is a company, they need to pay their employees, and to pay their employees and to keep making games they need to turn a profit, to turn a profit, they need to release games that sell. And here's the tricky part, for a good game to sell, people need to buy it instead of torrenting it. And one thing people always overlook is that "demand" does not equal "sales", so no matter how many petitions are made or how many demands are thrown, the company will make the games that actually sold. And that's the main problem, mediocre action games are more profitable because even non-fans might buy them, games made for "dedicated fans" will not sell so well because only at most it will be bought by fans, and I'm saying "at most" because there's a far too high chance many of these "fans" will just pirate it. On that note, Viewtiful Joe which you mentioned only sold around 900 thousand copies, RE6 sold 5 million (and that's only retail, not counting the digital release) and RE5 sold 8,5 million. So yeah, here's your reason what happened. It wasn't as evident in the arcade times, because they had a huge income from arcade machines. But now that arcades are pretty much only alive in Japan, the company simply needed to find different ways to survive.

I could get behind the "Super Capcom Brothers" idea. Black Tiger versus "Golden Armor" Arthur from Ghouls 'n' Ghosts, versus Michelle Heart from Legendary Wings, versus either Unknown Soldier from Forgotten Worlds. There's a huge chunk of my teenage years, right there. Now fight! >:)

Unpopular opinion: Just realized that they have tons of IP and can drop the Marvel vs games altogether and create a similar game with almost the same mechanics. What's good Capcom??
