I agree that 702 had a more mainstream appeal, but I don't agree that they were better vocally. To me 702 were pretty weak as far as really "sanging." Subway could really SANG. Their voices were pretty strong for their ages. They were only teens. Eric's voice was just as profound as a man twice his age and Trerail could hit the falsetto just as good as El (Debarge). Now as far as mainstream appeal, I agree. They wouldn't do much crossover, not with the oversexual choreography and urban outfits.
