Nope, game can do it originally. You need the Perform feat on all non-Bard characters though, for them to be able to use instruments.

On GOG ppl are complaining it is not Baldur’s Gate, but more like Divinity 3. How dare the devs be creative and innovative and give us a 10/10 experience?! This game is not EXACTLY what I expected when I dreamt about it that one time! In Baldur’s Gate 2 I had a purple robe, and now I have the same robe but it feels less purple!! Shame on you Larian studios!!
