I´ve sent you one of my latest matches of Ark which was one of the best I played I think. I did some bad moves at the start, but managed to "kill" my opponents times two on two different actions with a break and ended the game with a combination of european eagle leading into a size one build that covered the times two spot giving me double asso. My opponent just gave up.

Love your videos! There isn’t a lot of content like this out there so I really appreciate it. As feedback: would you consider disabling game sounds or lowering the volume? The cards swoosh sound can be a bit much

I would have kept sea cave, thorny devil, tarsier, breeding program, with the hopes of being able to release first turn, get a worker, get asian partner with worker, and re-use the 1 size enclosure for tarsier, probably causing the break. Upgrading build before first break, and getting 5 CP for free university with 6-7 rep after break with both projects, seems like an unbeatable open. (The only problem is the starting position of your assoc action.)

Very reasonable! I think Tarsier + Breeding Program in itself is one of the stronger openings anyway, but there is logic in keeping the other project combo to re-use that size 1 enclosure. I love the Eurasian Brown Bear on map 6 in particular because it's playable without the bear requirement. Turns out I drew well enough and didn't end up playing it anyway!

Interesting opening but association seems at the wrong spot for this and also tricky without a playable sponsor. The power comes from getting to associate twice first round so you would like to play build, animals, associate, cards, play sponsor, associate, animals. 7 actions first round is possible if opponent doesn't rush it but since associate starts at 2 you'll awkwardly have to play other stuff first and it becomes too unlikely you'll get time to do it. And inherently it isn't that strong otherwise, you get low income and also releasing has downsides when racing for animal diversity.

1:03:28 I think that only needed to be strength 7 because of veterinarian. That card is one of the hardest to remember

You still had enough x tokens later and won, so at least it wasn't big. Yeah, and even at the end I was thinking "oh if he had the x token from before 1 more point from a partner zoo" and even remembering vet before I didn't think about it on the final action like you saw. Tricky card

They should really add a warning to that card :P No, I should just get better at remembering it. Probably the only sponsor card I continually forget about.

Both ark nova games I think you make a mistake of playing association too late in round 1? Both games you know first thing you'll want to do round 2 is support CP. You also know in both games you will use sponsor at 5 to cause break early. Both games you could have entered round 2 with association at 5 right away.

You're right, it could be a small blind spot in my game. I will normally try to associate as late as possible, but in games where I want to support a project in the 2nd round I should associate right before building.
