Ayala Land has learned its lesson and its now building in ILOILO a new kind of mall experience - more gardens and trees, in the midst of which are low-rise shopping buildings, similar to what you can see in the redeveloped Greenbelt area and at Bonifacio High Sreet and complemented with multi-storey BPO/IT/Call Center buildings which are urgently in demand right now in Metro Iloilo.

I'm looking forward to seeing how it will turn out! 🔥 Iloilo is lucky to have Megaworld too; they really built their township so nicely. Can't wait to go there for Dinagyang ♥️

Makati is not people friendly. It's just a bunch busy streets and tall buildings. Not to mention the noisy and smelly traffic. What are people suppose to do there. BGC has wide sidewalks, open spaces, green spaces, trees for shades, sport parks and pocket parks for children amidst a variety of stores and restaurants. It has concerts, art displays and fireworks. It's safe, bright and beautifully decorated for the holidays so people enjoy walking around and taking pictures with friends and family.

It appears as if BGC was built using the lessons learned from the mistakes of Makati. BGC is really well planned and has been able to apply and include what modern communities around the world have.

Makati has a lot more character. Areas like Poblacion tips the scale with its various artisan; restaurants, cafes, up and coming artist. Yes, BGC is nice and much better planned but it doesn't have the soul of Makati. BGC is a manufactured city meanwhile Makati is a city with grassroots.

BGC is mire easily accessible than Ayala Makati. Just cross the street from embo district BGC kaagad. While sa Makati sasakay ka pa from poblacion bago ka makarating sa Ayala.

Oo nga noh. Dahil sa comment mo I realize na may BGC bus running around BGC where you can use Mastercard or Beep Card pero si Makati na matagal nang nag-exist kesa kay BGC ay hindi man lang nakapag-establish ng bus system around the city or at least around Makati CBD, naunahan pa! 😭

Filipinos should understand the difference between real economy vs eye-pleasing fabricated facilities. There is a reason why modern looking cities does not equate to a thriving economy and how this can be deceiving to one's perspective especially to those who know nothing about the world of economy and finance. Makati was built to be the financial capital of the country. To host the country's biggest banks and brands. BGC was built to cater young and creative companies balancing lifestyle in it. That's why BGC has large number of IT companies and more touristy vibes in it. Both cities has different purpose. Makati lies heavily on hosting financial institution HQs because of the city's prestigious branding. It also remains as a gateway for international firms entering the country. Thus, maintaining its title as the country's prime location. This title won't be dethroned anytime as it's very unlikely for the biggest local and international banks to relocate to other CBDs. BGC, on the otherhand, despite of the clout and foot traffics, they only have the minority of these banking institutions. In other words, BGC is like a branch out of the companies coming from Makati. Thus, making the developments of the two CBDs complementary. therefore: BGC - modern and balanced lifestyle for young, explorative, and creative firms (which is attractive to younger generations) Makati - Conservative and formal setting for big and well-established business (business focused)
