Great video! Takes me back to 1968 when my 1964 Series 3 TV175 engine blew up. Blown oil seal, broken gudgeon pin circlip (WTF?). New overbore barrel, piston and rings (£6) and transmission side oil seal. All fixed in my mum's utility room using whatever tools I could scrounge up. No workshop manual but a good mate who had a blown oil seal and worked to fix mine. It went like the clappers after that! I'm 72 now and have a 1965 TV175 and it all looks way too complicated!

I put a new BGM layshaft in my Jet 200 casing and it caught on the selector (I think) and made a loud clicking in neutral when going forward. Changed the sliding dog for a new one and changed the wishbone, tried all kinds of combinations but couldn't eliminate the noise entirely. Ended up putting the old Serveta layshaft and selector back in as there wasn't really anything wrong with either of them in the first place. That's Lambrettas for ya

Good on you pal 👍these are the time consuming bits that when your mates come round and you tell them it was a f&cker to shim up they look at you with that vacant stare 😳next time I’ll show um this video, then they might realise. Great work pal 👍

I recall reading somewhere that those gear change shafts sometimes came cast/machined slightly off and it made correct shifting difficult, these being after market types of course. It may have been MB that posted a new replacement one he'd made...

Was that grease or thread lock round the wheel bearing?

Sealant my friend same on shaft to make sure we dont get any oil coming through to contaminate brakes
