And God has already provided a detailed list of events that were going to happen 2,000 years ago in the book of revelation. So that Christians aren't taken up by suprise by the events that are taking place.

I think it is a good thing. It affirms the accuracy of the bible even more because in the Bible it has already mentioned in 1 Timothy 4:1 (NIV): "The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons." and Matthew 24:10-12 (NIV): "At the end times many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold." This is prophesied before the second coming of Christ.
