I am a grand son of Hanif sahib's sister (Sharifan bibi) from chak 94/NP which he mentioned in the interview I just want to say that the pain they gone through can't get explain. Our grandmother (Hanif sahib's sister) remembered the 47 Tragedy until her death and she always missed her parents.

My grand father were killed and my father seriously injured while leaving their village of Jalendher.three sisters and mother and one injured son lived in camp for a year.later they got 3 storey building in sant nagar and kept tennates to get some earnings.This house was occupied by tennates and this family was evacuated.My father remained silent throughout his life and never and could not narrate his story.He was very honest and used to care for poor even we had tough life amounting to no food ,no clothes etc.My mother supported my father and children and on loan reared us.we 2 are doctors, one cosmotologest one coder in America my one phopho went to india to see her house after 65 years.she was 5 in 1947.

Not true at all. From 1947 March to June only Muslims were killing Hindus and Sikhs in Rawalpindi, Lahore, west Punjab. Only form july to Oct Sikhs and Hindus started to take revenge in east. Please read Ishtiaq Ahmed’s books or see his interviews. It is the same in Bengal too. Naokhali massacre was direct violence on Hindus first.

1947 was a gigantic trauma for all the communities of Punjab. Unnecessary killing, torture, kidnapping, harassment and cruelity happened across the board. But at the same their were people of angelic qualities who protected other faith groups/friends putting their own lives at risk. Baba Jee's real and traumatic story is full of unpleasant historic incidents. We all Punjabis of both sides must honour all the innocent victims of cruelity, and learn a noble lesson to make this land a peaceful and prosperous land of BABA'S, Sufies, Peers, Faqeers, Gurus, Jogees (land of holy men of Punjab). We all must be thankful to Chauhan sahib and his team for recording the genuin heritage and living history of Punjab to make us aware about the sacrifices our elders gave. Chaudhary Muhammad Hanif Arain sahib was saddened inside the very core of his heart and mind when he was describing his own experiences of the suffering of the partition of 1947. At the same we must admire his Phoopee jee ( aunt) /Phoopa jee (uncle) who brought him up like their own son. May God bless all of them, Chauhan sahib and Desi infotainer team.

My father and uncle studied in Chak Mughlani School before partition. My great Grandfather Lal Khan killed a Wolf bare handed in 1920s and received prize and Honour from Maharaja Jagatjit singh of Kaporthala.

The village is 14.8 kilometers from Nakodar, 30.5 kilometers from Kapurthala, 31 kilometers from Jalandhar, and 169 kilometers from Chandigarh. Sahariwal is a medium-sized village with 121 families. My parents migrated from (laylpur district village lama pind) pakistan to India , now in Rupewali near malsian nakoder , the village hanif saab mentioned in his story , same thing happened to my family, but they all survived, my dad and my all family living in USA right now, but my dad always tells us the story , what happened that time ,really very sad 😢not good but it was past now

Very interesting, my father migrated from Sharaqpur, Nakodar (sarpura) to Lyallpur. lamba ping is near my locality. The villages near are Ala singh, Dijkot and Dallowal etc.

My grandmother was from the same village. Our family recently found her journals where she talks about sahariwal and their journey to Pakistan. I would love to talk to Mr. Hanif for research purposes. Our family is in the process of publishing my grandmother’s journals and it would be nice to have some more background information about sahariwal during those times.

Only Tarntarn Tehsil of Amritsar district & Jagraon Tehsil of Ludhiana district were Sikh dominated . All other tehsils of united Punjab were either ( Muslim ) majority or Hindu majority Tehsil as a unit . Nakodar Tehsil was Arain majority area . In most of the villages Hanif Sahib named have our relatives who migrated from Pakistani Punjab

They are blessed & happy to be in their own homeland . Safe with their faith. That’s all we need being Pakistani. I am proud to say that no Sikhs or Hindus were killed in our villages waisa. District Attock ( camblepur) in 1947 . The local Pathans of the village gave refuge to Hindus and Sikhs and took them pace fully to Hasan Abdal camp ⛺️. ❤🎉❤
