You know my grandmother from my mother's side belonged to a rich family in Pakistan. They had orchards and a family business of milk and oil. Then due to partition the Muslims were burning the houses of Hindus and Sikhs and their house was about to be burnt when they escaped. They took the money and clothes which they could grab and went to their neighbours who were also muslims but didn't believe in conversion or killing. They hid my grandmother's family in their house and got them on the train to India safety. My grandmother told me that they hid in the trains and just wished they reach India safely, as sometimes the trains were stopped and people were killed. And let me tell you that she became a surgical nurse from her hardwork even after suffering from poverty. She is now retired. She inspires me soooo muchhh. Anyways just wanted to share her story❤️❤️

I can't even describe the pain that Punjab went through as a whole. My grandfather used to tell us about his past and things were horrifying. Many people thought that the running was temporary and so they left their belongings in Pakistan only. I remember my grandfather used to tell us that he along with his family were coming to India while he was very young on a Bus. Suddenly a mob of Muslims attacked the bus and only 2 people survived. One was a lady and the other was my Grandfather. My Grandfather whenever narrated us his stories about the partition, used to cry a lot. And this is when he was in his 70's and 80's.
