I have been listenting to Carnatic music as a lay listener for 30 years so other than identifying some ragas , I have no knowledge in carnatic music so please forgive me if my comments lack any knowledge. The ragam in which Shri Ramana Balachandran has sung has very close resemblance to the song in the Tamil language movie Athma sung by Shri T.N.Seshagopalan. The opening lines of the song from the movie Atma is "Innarul tharum annapurani" and is available in youtube. I believe the ragam is either Durga or Gowda Malhar. May Ramana Maharshi bless the world with peace, calmness and compassion !!
