Kaal bhairav is the fierce form of lord shiva he is the protector of kaashi lord shivas favourate place which is full of piece it is also said that when shiva created two gods lord vishnu and brahma Lord vishnu and lord brahma started arguing to each other that who is great then a pillar appeared a voice came inside that pillar one who will find the end of this pillar will be great god lord brahma and vishnu decided that they will find end they started searching the end but they didnt got it lord vishnu said that he didn't find the end of this pillar but lord brahma said lie because he want to be great god he said he has find the end of this pillar Later the pillar turned into lord shiv and he taken the form of kaal bhairav to punish lord brahma for lie Later he cutted the fifth head of lord brahma with his sword Later lord brahma and vishnu realised that shiv is great god he is immortal he is supreme he is beginning he is end Later lord kaal bhairav got sin because of cutting head of brahma lord shiv told kaal bhairav to go kaashi after he went to kaashi his sins were washed and lord shiv told kaal bhairav to protect kaashi and 51 shaktipeeth of godess sati Hail god kaal bhairav

He may have knowledge but Bhairava is considered as one of the ugra devata , it is very very difficult for person who lives in varna sharam to follow that tough rules , so better to worship satvik and mild form of lord , you can go for simple vaishnava , shaiva or shakti upasana , if you want go for tantrik ugra deity upasana you need to follow many strict rules which is nearly impossible to follow if you are family man/women
