My father and his friend started listening to this concert at home. They could not bear not to be there live and so they drove 110miles , only time my father drove at 100mph, to get to tbe Royal Albert Hall. My father never forgot that night. I am sure he is again enjoying the great panditji with their Great Maker

Whenever raag Darbai Kanada and raag Bhairavi are on sitar the name of khan saheb comes spontaneously and creates a different aura.... This is my personal feeling with due respect to every artist

what a great relation between thickness and frequency. changing of scale wow. decreasing the sound level makes a vast scope of tabla. what a melodious sound coming out it acts as a catalyst for proper functioning of the cerebrum. excellent.
मुझे तो करोड़ों का खजाना मिल गया । बहुत सुंदर अति सुंदर । कोटि कोटि नमन और साथ ही धन्यवाद ।

Such mastery can only be achieved through total devotion. Devotion to Almighty, surrendering oneself in entirety. Jeo Ustad Vilayat jee. Without doubt the greatest sitarist of our time.

@@diptanilchaki4328 Thats not true at all...The real lovers of Indian Classical Music of course hails Ustaadji and Pt Nikhil Banerjee as real maestros...as a classical sitar player I personally rate both Ustaad Vilayat Khan & Pandit Nikhil Banerjee higher then Pt Ravi Shankar

@@santanudasgupta9028 I didn't know anyone but Shankar for many many years & because of our Beatle! Only years ago I found out there're more gems hiding there. Media to blame I guess, I could be wrong. Shankar got lots of press, others also visited Europe, Americas but didn't get much press. Now YT is bringing them all from those commercial hideout. tinyurl.com/DSRagg00 Thanks from Great Britain (Fri 13 Nov 2020 1939)

The amzingly ethereal quality of both the maestros' art is that they transform themselves into a transcendental level and are not with us while they are performing👏👏👏

This was the concluding item of an all night concert held at the Royal Albert Hall in London as part of the BBC's Proms Season. Other artists who performed that night included Ustad Sultan Khan, an 18 year old Irshad Khan, vocalist Niyaz Ahmed Khan (?), Zakir Hussain and Avtar Singh. The entire concert had been broadcast live on BBC Radio 3. Each and every performance that night was truely remarkable. Hopefully we will get to hear more of that special night.

I was there too. It was an amazing experience. It was the 1st time an All night concert was held at the Royal Albert Hall or anywhere in England for that matter. Everyone was falling off like flies unable to keep awake. They would all wake up and sit up when ever it became lively like table playing. when slow singing came people dropping off like flyes

This is a rare gem that I was looking for. Its was very strange that they did not release any recordings of that at all. But at you recorded it. Dylan's Lyrics thankyou very much for sharing it with us. I really appreciate it.

Attending this concert, which was rebroadcast by Radio 3 the following year, was one of the truly great musical experiences of my life. No longer being able to play the reel-to-reel tapes I made of that broadcast, I am particularly grateful to be able to hear parts of it here. Thank you so much.

Sadly, I very much doubt it. I have written to them several times, suggesting the Prom would make a fine Through the Night broadcast. I have not even had the courtesy of a reply.
