Great singing by nusrat, and the real high notes from rahat, embellish this great raga. It is possible that this raga came ti India with the aryans 3 or 4 thousand years ago. If the Dravidians originated this raga then it is truly Indian, otherwise we have to consider an imported raga. Any way it is great and the singers are unique.

Digvijay Tiwari I'm not a musician but having read about it most classical singers are of the opinion that raag Bhairavi hasn't originated from Bharat , but has come from somewhere abroad, they must have reasons to believe so. Very similar raags are part of Arab, Persian and Spanish music. So the origin could be anywhere. In olden times religion and music were NOT nationalised. And nowhere in time have people felt shame in adopting any good thing from a foreign civilization.
