He never begged, nor went to places for free food. He gave up all, just to find God. He has spent a life of discipline. Many days without food, just survived on water. Never lived even in a village, because he was an ascetic. Everything around him which you are seeing is all God's plan for us to live a better life. Even if you see the material, cloth, it is just a simple Yellow colour piece of cloth. All other arrangements are God's arrangement for us. What’s a prophet? We do not believe in such concepts. It does not make any sense to believe that a creator entity called God randomly selects few people and send messages through them! If God wants to send a message, God is fully capable of speaking directly. Spiritual Gurus are there to teach us mediation, yoga etc that will help us to spiritually evolve & lead a blissful life. They are not in the business of intercepting Gods messages and passing on to other people.

He didn't say u have to be a saint to attain God. He said you can't do it on your own by reading the vedas or other scriptures. You need a Guru, a sadhu who will tell us the right path. The vedas have all complicated and easy ways, everything in them, but we don't know which is the right way. We need a guru to show us the real path.
