“Bhaktajana Vatsale”- An Abhang ft Padma Shri Aruna Sairam and Vid Sriranjani Santhanagopalan

It is a tremendous honor for me to join forces with the esteemed Padma Shri awardee, Sangita Kalanidhi, Chevalier Aruna Sairam in presenting a distinctive rendition of Sant Namdev Maharaj's Abhang set in Brindavani Saranga, wherein he unequivocally acknowledges the equivalence of the Divine Mother Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Maha Vishnu in unwavering faith - "NAmA MhanE Tu viSvAchE Janani." I have cherished Smt. Aruna Sairam's interpretation of this Abhang since my early years, and it feels like a moment of full-circle significance to now present it alongside her. This Abhang crescendos to its rhythmic peak at the simple and yet powerful “Namavali” that ensues. Hope you also enjoy the brief foray into Rag Basant in the lines "Sajalajaladadhar"! The profound resonance of this Abhang has been brought to full blossom by the exceptional musicians S Sayee Rakshith, Sumesh Narayanan, and MT Aditya.
Initially planned as a part of the annual Navaratri series, AMN 2023, we're happy it got rescheduled to drop during Deepavali- it's the perfect fit for the occasion!

This is the first abhang i heard thro one of aruna ammas album long time back which made me to start hearing carnatic classical music.
