||Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare|| ||Hare Ram Hare Ram Ram Ram Hare Hare|| Atma Namaste! Thank you so much for this beautiful lecture, I learnt so much here! I'd been pondering about the question," shall we master one skill or spread our talent across multiple horizons?" for a long time. As a multi-talented person who does decently well in everything that I pick up, I was caught in the web of too many choices, the lesson on one pointedness and streamlining really helped. Thank you so much again! Lessons enjoyed: 1.Detach from the outcome and do your deeds 2.Buddhi Yoga concepts 3.One pointedness 4. How much do I have to lose before I lose my blindness 5.Relief and release in relation to greed and lust.

Hare Krishna Prabhuji, Karma kanda and karma yoga contrasted in terms of temporary and eternal results and one pointed intelligence required to rise above the modes of material nature and go to eternal existence. Thank you.

Thank you Prabhuji. Krishna tells Arjuna fight for the sake of fighting. You are not fighting for victory. You are just doing your duty because I desire the battle.

Krishna tells Arjuna not to be concerned with gain and loss when He just told him to fight so he can attain enjoyment either on earth or in svarga. The sudden change is because Krishna takes Arjuna higher, from karma kanda to karma yoga. Contrast between karma kanda and karma yoga: temporary vs eternal results, many branched intelligence distracted by many desires vs one pointed attention fixed on self-realisation, destination within the three modes vs eternal destination beyond the modes. Thank you. Hare Krishna.

When desires crowd our minds, dilemmas cloud our intelligence so be focussed. Ex; when we carry a bag for travel we see that just what is required for the purpose we take only those things in packing similarly our mind should be focussed to carry only those which are just required. Therefore, this verse says to avoid our conscious from to many branches so be pointedness and focused.

2.38 - 2.46 - Contrasting KY with KK 2.38 - Just fight for the sake of fighting, without considering happiness or distress, loss or gain, victory or defeat - by doing so you shall never incur sin. This is countering bg 1.36. Here the motivation for fight is gone further on Yoga ladder. 2.39 - Till now I explained you through Sankhya. Now listen as I explain in terms of working without fruitive results. When you act in such knowledge, you can free yourself from the bondage of works. 2.40 - There is no loss or diminution in this endeavor, and a little advancement on this path can protect one from most dangerous type of fear(reactions from sinful actions) Whatever we do in spiritual life will stay forever with us. 2.41 - Vyavsatmika buddhi - One pointd resolute in purpose and their aim is one. Oh beloved son of Kurus, the intelligence of those who are irresolute is many-branched. When desires crowd our mind then dillemas cloud our intelligence. When less time then prioritize. Serious devotee has sense of urgency and sense of purpose. Eg Prabhupada followed his Guru's instruction. We have to be fanatically focused to achieve something. 2.42-2.43 - Men of small knowledge are very much attached to the flowery words of Vedas, which recommend various fruitive activities for elevation to heavenly planets, resultant good birth, power and so forth. Being desirous of sense gratification and oppulent life, they say there is nothing more. (Bhoga-aishwarya - enjoy opulence; kama-atmanah - desirous of sense gratification) 2.44 - For those who are attached to sense enjoyment and material oppulence, resolute determination for devotional service to the Supreme Lord does not take place. Relief (relief from pain) and release (become free) 2.45 - The vedas deal mainly with 3 mode of material nature. Become transcentental to these modes. Be free from dualities and from all anxieties for gain and safety, and be established in the self. (atmavan - become spiritually aware/conscious by going beyond 3 modes) 2.46 - All purposes served by a small well can be served by big reservoir of water. Similarly, all the purposes of the vedas can be served to one who knows the purpose behind them. -Ultimate purpose of vedas is to know him and to love him(Krishna). Results of KK are temporary and KY are eternal.

In 1.36 A speaks about getting paap. K is replying now - you’re fighting for duty, not for your own sake. K seems to be contradicting Himself. Previous verse He says, if you win you’ll get kingdom, if you lose, you get heaven. Suddenly K changes track and says do not think in terms of profit and loss. U-turn. Why? K is taking A one step higher in yoga ladder - karma yoga - acting with detachment.
