Can you share examples of how we can serve god and guru swamiji ? 🙏
@bhaktilectures40982 жыл бұрын
There are three types of seva according to the scriptures. The first and foremost is serving God and Guru with mind (Manasi seva); the second type is serving God and Guru with our body; the third type is serving God and Guru with our wealth. The highest kind of seva is Manasi seva (serving with Mind in our meditation); however, it is the most difficult one and to achieve perfection in this, we need to do the second and third type of seva (serving with body and wealth), based on our capability. If one has a healthy body and has wealth, but he doesn't serve God and Guru with either the body or wealth and says, "I will only serve with mind," it is considered hypocrisy. The second and third type seva have to be done in order to be able to do Manasi seva. When we serve God and Guru with everything we have, we attract their divine grace. We progress faster in our devotion.This can only be experienced by oneself. Some examples of serving with mind: Meditate that Shri Krishna is standing before us, now we are bathing Him, we are dressing Him with very beautiful clothes. We are making beautiful garlands for Him and offering Him. We are offering Him the most beautiful ornaments. We are offering Him the best perfume. We are cooking and feeding Him delicious sattvic food. We are fanning Him while He eats. We are massaging His feet when He takes rest. We can also do any other kind of seva we like based on our own unique devotional sentiments. There is no restriction. The only thing we have to keep in mind is that we serve Him in order to make him happy. The same kind of Manasi seva should be done for Guru as well. In fact, in raganuga bhakti, devotion to Guru is first and foremost as there is no place for a devotee in the spiritual world without the Guru. Seva with body: Cleaning temple of God etc., massaging the feet of our Gurudev, cooking for him, cleaning his ashram and other related physical duties following his instructions. Seva with wealth: Donating our wealth to our Gurudev to assist him in his spiritual mission. Seva also means following Guru's instruction. If we want to serve Guru in some way, but our guru does not want that, then it is not considered 'seva'. (Please note that these instructions are taken from various discourses by Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj that are also found in a book called 'Guru Seva'.)

True love is very rare. It is selfless.It never dies. Its bonding is so strong that it cannot be break or destroy in any circumstances.The nature of true love is to give, give and only give without seeking anything in return. By God and guru' grace a very fortunate soul can get this . Swamiji very nicely explains here.

Next time when you feel that God is teasing you, you don't feel His presence in your heart no matter how much devotion you try, you doubt God and think He has betrayed and left you, everything is falling apart in your life and you get tempted to complain-"Did I hand over my life to God so that He will mess it up? Had I not surrendered, I would have lived a better life than this", THEN!--- Be assured that you are highly favoured by God and have one of the highest friendships with Him... And when you go through such circumstances and seasons of spiritual test, practice 'witness mindset' and accept the fact that you are shelter-less and only God is all you have...

This teacher is a real sweetheart. Very enjoyable to watch. This is probably the most uplifting lecture about God I can ever recall hearing, and may you be blessed for such an amazing explanation. I have been doing a great deal of seeking, and I wanted something outside of who the Torah or Bible or Q'uran says God is, because those definitions were just causing me so much fear and stress that I was losing my ability to function. I have been crashing mentally and emotionally from my struggle and barely getting through day by day in constant mental anguish at the awareness of hell fire and being imperfect. Yesterday I felt drawn at what is called Asr time to pray (one of the 5 obligatory prayer times for Islamic practitioners), but I told God that I just wanted to sit in love with Him/Her, not recite things. I just wanted to talk and be with God for a few moments and focus my love for Him/Her. This lecture is exactly what I needed to hear.

What I get back from this explanation of true love is that the ancient scriptures and modern scriptures are in harmony . The modern scriptures say that, " charity is pure love of Christ ," And how did Jesus Christ manifested his love for God ? He gave his life ; infinite sacrifice . Yes, true love is serve others without any selfish motive . निष्काम सेवा आनंद देवा ।

Yes, this swamiji has explained very well. Paramahansa Yogananda in his book, The Divine Romance also touches on the love of God. I am not a hindu but it took a hindu Saint to inspire me to fall in love with God. Because of him, I even love Jesus more. This is the power of God realized souls. It is not the religion but the individual messengers of God in whichever faith they belong to attract us to the divine.

In the material realm, we love others for our self-interest. However, in the spiritual realm, love is not self-seeking. The evidence of true love is when God/Guru act in adverse ways to test the devotee, yet the devotee sticks with them out of knowledge-based faith. Thank you, Swamiji, for the most profound knowledge.

God, the Creator of everything, created our souls, which is who we truly are; but we must get beyond materialism, and we must get beyond our minds way of thinking and doing; What is available to us is the most precious gift of all: God's Love. God, who is our Father and also our Mother, wants very much to give every one of His children, Her Love. The only thing required, is that each individual who desires God's Love, is to simply ask God: Please Father, I desire Your Love." Be sincere; and God will immediately give you Her Love. His Love is powerful; for His Love is the Essence of Mother. Here, I diverge. When God created our souls, each soul becomes two persons upon incarnation to Earth. These two persons are soulmates. God is both masculine and feminine; so God could be He if I refer to Father. Or God can be She, if I refer to Mother. Though there is One God, Father is Father/Mother; and Mother is Mother/Father. What I am saying is that God is not two; but One. God desires relationship with us. When I was 12 years old, Father said to me: "I am your Father." He clarified to me that "Jesus is my older brother." I never believed Jesus is God. I knew the true God as the One who gave me His Love. Now, I must share this Truth with you, my brothers and sisters.
@bhaktilectures40982 жыл бұрын
First, the souls are eternal, i.e., they were never created by God, according to the Vedic scriptures. They have existed ever since God has existed. They are sentient just like God is sentient. It is another matter that a soul is infinitesimally small while God is infinite. God is the controller of Maya while the soul is being controlled by Maya (or material energy of God). Secondly, the Vedic scriptures say that until our mind becomes 100% pure and cleansed, we can never receive the Divine Love of God. This is the spiritual law of God. The mind purification happens through devotional practice when a soul constantly engages in loving remembrance of God and sheds tears of intense longing for God, for His divine vision and for His selfless service. Another eternal law of God is that He won't give Divine Love directly to any soul but via a God-realized Saint who has attained Divine Love. If someone says I have attained Divine Love of God, then he must be a God-realized Saint and he must have transcended the cycle of life and death. But a God-realized Saint never openly claims that he has attained Divine Love. However, there are certain divine symptoms that manifest in his material body. Through these symptoms, one can get a faint idea that He is a God-realized Saint who has attained Divine Love.
