Not really Scindia and Holkar remained neutral infact Scindia wasn't granted the title of Maharaja at that time and he had no rights, all rights remained in the hands of his diwan Dinkarrao Rajwade as far as Holkar is concerned he also remained neutral and infact it was Holkar who gave asylum to the Nawab of Banda and the adopted son of Rani Lakshmibai and Scindia helped Nansaheb escape to Nepal , if one reads history written by descendants of Tatya Tope than they admit that Scindia had supported Nanasaheb internally , as far as Patiala is concerned there was no reason for them to support the Mughal ruler as they hadn't forgotten the atrocities commited by the Mughalson them, and yes as far as Scindia and Holkar are concerned they had carried out fair amount of development works in Indore and Gwalior during the colonial era.

syed ahmed khan was a agent of british, he was hiding in toilet when mughal soldiers were luking for him, his mother brothers sisters relatives killed in the revolt. after 1857 revolt he wrote a sori letter to british for this revolt. he was a loyal dog of the british till his death 😁
