Some trivia for you guys, especially for the other gentleman on this episode who stays in Bangalore. Iyengars are a Brahmin community from Karnataka, TN & Andhra regions in case you didn't know. The Iyengars who hail from a town in Karnataka called 'Hassan' are especially well-reputed to own bakeries all over Karnataka--that's how the "Iyengar" bakery term which has now become a household brand. FYI, there's no "original" as such as you guys were discussing, but there are definitely some legendary bakeries that are better than the rest. Glad you went to VB! However, if you do see "Iyengar" or "Bangalore Iyengar" bakery in Pune or elsewhere in Maharastra or India, you cannot be sure if that is an actual Iyengar bakery. Nice episode! You guys missed one of the most famous and old bakery in b'lore which is O.G varrier and sons bakery in Rajajinagar 5th block and one more branch in 2nd block rajajinagar. They have the best milk biscuits,aloo bun and various items.

Pretty enjoyable episode considering this was outside of Maharashtra. Not doubting your research but a trip to OG Variar Bakery could have been good. Located at the north part of the city, I guess Variar falls little off the track. You’re talking about Khau Galli across Indian cities. Yes O.G Variar Bakery in Shivanagar and Rajajinagar are the best. Also for those who don't know these are the only 2 official bakeries of O.G Varier, rest of them are counterfeit.

Suggestion: Ahmednagar also has little-known but a very well Puff/Pattice culture. Filling to pastry ratio is outstanding everywhere, some must try eateries 1. Datta Backery, Chitale road 2. Varsha Pattice, Bhausaheb Firodia school 3. Royal restaurant, Zopadi Canteen area and GPO chowk 4. Jalaram Backery, Kedgaon 5. Lakshmi Snacks, Maliwada 6. Sahib Backery, MIDC 7. Dilip Sandwich, Chitale Road 8. Sweet Home, Premdan chowk
