The call of the peacocks reminded me of the times when behind meharchand market in lodi colony there used to be a large forest...before so called development happened...Those days sunset time there used to be cacophony there all birds including peacocks chirping in a melodious unison. Thanks Appu

Yes ! The destruction started in 1980-81 when Nehru stadium was built. Before that there used to be jackals as well in that wooded belt upto Jangpura road. Shiva were you aware Mayur Vihar was named after so many peacocks in this area. Especially in the wooded belt along the chilla village next to Guruvayurappan temple. Some times they used to visit our apartments too. Now that part has given way to multi-storey flats. Peacocks have all gone now.
