Difference between Judge and Magistrate भारत के राष्ट्रपति और राज्यपाल ही किसी जज की नियुक्ति कर सकते हैं.राज्य सरकार और हाई कोर्ट एक मजिस्ट्रेट की नियुक्ति करते हैं.जज बनने के लिए लॉ की डिग्री अनिवार्य है.मजिस्ट्रेट बनने के लिए लॉ की डिग्री प्राप्त करना अनिवार्य नहीं है.एक जज का अधिकार क्षेत्र नेशनल लेवल पर होता है.एक मजिस्ट्रेट का अधिकार क्षेत्र स्टेट लेवल पर होता है.एक जज किसी दोषी व्यक्ति को मौत की सज़ा दे सकता है.किसी मजिस्ट्रेट को किसी दोषी व्यक्ति को मौत की सज़ा देने का अधिकार नहीं है.एक जज जटिल मामलों को संभालता है.एक मजिस्ट्रेट केवल छोटे-मोटे मामले ही देखता है.
