my 2 cents: Parents need to change in a way that sending kids to hostel is not punishment, it's kind of a gift. I came to USA when I was 21 yrs old, being a single child, not much immediate family/children of my age to play with, I'm different compared to others. My mom used to threaten me that she will send me to hostel if I do mischievous stuff, but listen, HOSTEL is NOT A PUNISHMENT, if you don't know how to bring up kids, don't show that anger on the kids. Tell the kids Hostel is a positive thing or give a sibling for god's sake.
