Bhera the Historic Walled City of Pakistan Urdu / Hindi Documentary

Bhera is one of the most famous city of Sargodha district. Bhera is located on 3km from Bhera interchange on M-2. Bhera is a historic city with profound roots. Bhera is a walled city like Lahore and Multan. Histry of Bhera belongs to Alexander the Great. Sher Shah Shri Masjid, Bowli Temple, Princess Zain shrine, Abandoned Railway Station, Shiva Ling Temple, Gurdwara are important historic buildings of Bhera city besides the amazing internal walled city. Sher Shah Suri did visit Bhera and stayed here for short while. Pir Karam Shah Al Azhari is one of the prominent personality of Bhera city Pakistan. THF tried to highlight the Bhera Sharif history in an Urdu and Hindi documentary.

It is my ancestral town. My father migrated from this town to India during partition. This gentleman has revived the memory of the stories my father used to tell me particularly terminal railway station of Bhera where the train engine used to be rotated for its back journey. Alas, this railway station has now been closed for ever but the memory lane of Bhera, Miani, Malakwal will remain ever running in my mind! There was one Chidi Chog Mandir and (Arya) Hindu High School, where my father and uncles studied. Bhera has changed its location from this side to that and from that to this side of river Jhelum, my used to tell me. In education, Bhera was at the top of the list. There were so many residents of Bhera settled in England that English used to ask whether Bhera was bigger or Lahore. Great Scientist Sh Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar who established council of scientific research, was from Bhera. My father left there whatsoever he had and came to India empty handed but overladen with the sweet memories of the town. “Rabb Ne Chaihya, Taan Mein Jaroor Jasaan Bhere, Te vekhsaan Galian Jithe Mere Bajurga Da Bachpan Biteya Si.” Feeling nostalgia of Bhera! Thanks for posting this beautiful video clip of my ancestral town. 🙏

Due to Motorway, Bhera has again come to lime light. I was born in Bhera , matriculated in 1960 from Govt High School Bhera. At that time T I College was esteemed very high in the region. I along with some other class fellows did F Sc from Rabwah and got admission in W Pak Univ of Engg & Tech Lahore and graduated in civil Engg .I retired as GM NESPAK and now living in Sweden . Love of Bhera never departed from my mind and soul. My father Mian Fazl ur Rahman Bismil BA BT was senior English teacher in Govt High School Bhera . We had to migrate from Bhera in 1974 due anti Ahmadiyya cricis . Our house and father were attacked by muslem clergy . God saved my father , but unfortunately we lost every thing . But Allah Our Creator did not forget us . This is a bitter memorary of Bhera.

Other historians have given different locations of 'Bhatiya Nagar': capital of bhattis (1) Elliot and Dawson have identified it as Bhera located in Punjab. (2) Ravetri has described it as a high city of the then Bahawalpur state. (3) J. Bird has described it as Bhatner city of the then Bikaner state. (4) According to Mohammad Nizami, it was Bhatinda city of southern Punjab. 5) According to Unsuri, the diary writer of Sultan Mahmud, the Sultan took the bath of thorns. And crossed the area full of bushes. (6) Prof. Yes. S. l. According to Deora it was Bhatner.

Hello I am from Hisar Haryana, Sher Shah Suri was a very great ruler of India,he make canals for the irrigation purpose,one is still working at Hansi, Hisar,he make the road's for the benefit of general interest, my elder told me,one from peshawar to Calcutta and other from Multan to Delhi and called g.t.road. In 1947 all Hindus ,families ..who were being protected in shelters with in walled city Bhera were.. made to assemble at the Bhera Railway station by the escorting Indian Armies….?? Sikh regiment ( after Liyaqat Nehru pact ….narrated horrific stories of blood thirsty marauders from adjoining rural area standing in the a adjoining the fields , as narrated by my father Late Rattan Chand ) that ?? Dec 1947 or so who was post for clerical job in the Govt High School Bhera ..established 1n 1947.It was prosperous town with very educated rich Hindus families.
