This shloka was actually spoken by Lord Krishna himself. Here Krishna praised Karna.The original shloka was "Brahmanyah Satyavadi Cha Tapasvi Niyata Vrat Ripushvapi Dayavanasya Tasmat Karno Vrisha Smritah" Star Plus team has modified this verse, they have replaced the word "Bramhanya" with "Kshatriya"; and "Karna" with "Bhisma". This is the episode when duryodhan putted fire in the palace known as Varnavat or lakahagriha where pandavas were leaving for couple of days. The fire was putted to kill pandavas. After that pandavas got know and escaped from that palace successfully but before that incident bhishmah pitamah got to know about this all and went to varnavrat but till that time everything was turned as ashes. So he thought that pandavas and kunti had died. Thats why he was crying
