Paul, you are a true magician when it comes to explaining stuff and make it interesting AND entertaining 👍🏻

Just one point: the important development in the 1920s in speakers was the introduction of electromagnetic transducers instead of mechanical transducers. Whether the transducer is a direct radiator or horn-loaded, is another story. Excellent presentation, of course.

I would very much like to see part two...part one was really nice. I love to watch people who are that passionate about audio. If my wallet would allow it i would love to build a system around that amplifier..

Just waiting for Paul to realize that if you replace the low power tubes in the BHK signature with higher power tubes and the solid-state output section with a transformer, you will have one smokin', musical sounding amp! 😉

Paul didn't mention that Kellogg once put too much voltage across his and Rice's loudspeaker and, hence, the Advent of Kellogg's Rice Crispies.

Please make a lower power, less expensive BHK. Say 10-20w/ch. For those of us with high eff speakers? ;)

Are there no audiophiles left under 80?

It's always tended to be the older, wealthier, retired crowd (for the most part) as far as die hard audiophiles go lol. It's only now with the modern class D stuff that the every man, and younger crowds can really justify getting into the world of high quality audio. It also tends to be later in life one steps back a bit, chills out, unwinds, and starts trying to notice, and enjoy the "finer" things in life, of which high end audio is definitely among. But yea, the younger crowd becoming interested definitely seems to be largely missing. I bet they'll be back soon enough with what companies like Fosi audio and Aiyima are trying to do (Quite successfully i might add) Disclaimer: Im 30, but my dad has been into high quality audio my entire life, it's where i get my kick for it. I struggle to get people my age to even notice the difference between my system and their JBL party speakers. They have to ability, but their perceptions are too preoccupied by other things. Most the young crowd today didnt grow up in a house with a dedicated hi-fi setup like the couple previous generations (Or i) did either, so it takes being shown directly by someone with access to a high level of sound quality, as well as the someone being shown caring enough to notice the difference. I have wanted to smack more then one person my own age (roughly) for comparing my system unfavorably to walmart party speakers on the basis of output volume alone as a benchmark for sound quality. But i have also watched people cry after sitting in front of my system, but only people quite a bit older then I am.

@@alexvartanian464 they have a stereo version the same price as one of the monoblocks. it's nearly identical in construction and components, so doesn't cost any more then the single monoblock. Not everyone wants, needs, or can even house 2 monoblocks of this size.

I was wondering if you filled the vacuum tube with a gas different gases would probably create a different sound has anybody done this Can't you run a tube and MOSFET in parallel to each other or feed the MOSFET from The Tube
