Those who said it is the most boring part of the cinema..do they realise what exactly happened in this dance sequence...it is the portrayal of the truth of life..it was a war sequence in the form of dance..on the basis of religion..caste..but finally everybody died..the war was all in vain...who else could portray the whole message so creatively

Adding to that Gupi guyn bhagha bain was a sarcastic take on then famous phrase "Roti Kapda Makaan", the basic human needs. Imagine with the backdrop of 1969 bengal and this satire makes so much sense. It deals with the wish for these basic needs and the fantasies around it. The whole life I considered it as a kids movie..

This film was made in 1969 five years after the vietnam war...satyajit ray always admired the exemplery courage shown by the primitive Vietnamese..(watch "two") his antiwar message is clearly potrayed through the dance .also to note that the symbol of bhootrr raja is a star which is the flag of vietnam and other communist countries...he was a communist in true sense...and was wise enough to potray it through the easter eggs in almost all his films
