Out of curiosity a couple questions- 1. How long did it take you to perfect bhopping? 2. are you (one of)the pioneers of this technique? 3. How long do you think it would take A.beginners (and) B. pros to learn/implement. 4. What maps are best to practice? And why did you choose these maps? 5. (Not a question)Please pin for others who are genuinely interested. P.s. will reply with how long it took me to utilize this technique and also when i belive i mastered it(if at all. Looks complicated but also with muscle memory could be a walk in the park).

Yeah I'd love to hear once you feel you are consistent at them, they definitely take a hot minute lol. 1. I started using them around the end of June. I didn't figure out chaining until around 2 weeks later, and even that was still quite inconsistent compared to now. I want to say for consistent enough it took me around a month, but there's still so much to improve on that I find it hard to say I'm consistently perfect or close to it. 2. Not fully a pioneer but I definitely pushed it after it was discovered. (Random history off the cuff, don't castrate me if I'm wrong lol) Some people like Drazen and Zick started testing the idea originally. I first saw the one wheel technique get used by Ewarz which seemed more fruitful than the 2 wheel one Drazen was originally using. Then I think I made the biggest pushes from there with chaining them consistently and putting together the Bone Cavern routes. People are starting to catch-up with bhopping, but I think I'm still "the bhop guy" for now lol 3. A beginner would probably be a fair amount of time, I would say 2-3 months for consistent chaining, but it really depends on their starting point and commitment. For pros, I'd say single bhops in a couple days and a couple weeks to a month for consistent chaining. 4. Bone Cavern 1 is my main map recommendation for training bhops. You can work on some easy sloped bhops throughout the map if you want, and both tunnels are essentially flat with no real obstacles. This was where most of my consistency and training came from. I've also seen people try ReinPikas training map, I find the grass disorienting to tell the height of the road on, but if that's not the case for you then it has a giant open field for reckless practicing lol. I spent multiple hours on Shipwrecked doing bhops literally everywhere because of all the weird angled roads, which I think really helped me learn as well. I wasn't focused on going fast, just being consistent and spamming them as hard as possible. Other than that I say try it on most maps honestly. Practicing with uncomfortable scenarios causes you to learn much faster and leads to better understanding and consistency. Being comfortable when you're practicing just leads to plateaus in skill

@deadlyDioji wow thank you, I wasn't expecting such a quick reply, just because of the level of detail you put into the video, the same amount into the comment. Pure legend, see ya on the track ;). GT: o Dragon v3x First gotta practice, tho lol. Again, probably the best guide I've ever seen anywhere, structure is straightforward, and all details mattered, straight down to the point of perfection. Examples of what to do and what could be done wrong in a short video. As soon as I get on I believe I'll have it down fairly quickly. But to master it. I already use mag flips, and air drift flips a lot so the air roll part is the only part I'm unfamiliar with. I'll do speed run maps to hone my skills. Also I never considered using a custom map for anything but now I'll have to try it.

Just make sure you know the difference between the “air dodge” version and the “air roll / bunny hop” version of flips. The Bunny hop is harder than it looks. If you mess up the bunny hop you won’t maintain the speed from it. Air Dodge is the most common when going off the edge or even sling shotting when going off the edge upside down. I’m just shocked that a selected few had figured out how to make air roll useful.

guessing this tech doesnt work on closed in tires (cyclone, senna, diestro for example) due to how the cars hitbox is, as much of a benefit this is and how much time is needed, it kinda eliminates most cars people like, as much as i like the octane ZSR, i prefer the senna atm. very well done tho as i understood how its done more and can spend the time to do it if i used the cars it needs! i also have the habit of constantly adjusting angle and movement of the cars so its difficult for me to get used to lol

Don’t get me wrong, this is such a cool mechanic but I hope this doesn’t become absolutely mandatory when it comes to competitive racing. Plus the only car so far with exposed wheels are the Octane, Behemoth and Backfire. While they’re mere cosmetics, the simple fact that you can precisely see what wheel is touching down make the Octane/Backfire/Behemoth arguably the best cars in the game in terms of performing this and I will be direct here, physics exploit. Maybe they’ll patch it? Probably not, the game needs more complex mechanics like this. These discoveries are what give competitive video games life. But in the end, I can’t say I’m in favor of such a thing like this existing, especially knowing that the game tells you straight up that driving is faster than flying
@deadlyDioji2 ай бұрын
Yeah I haven't tried it with the other cars though I'm sure it would mess with the feeling, but I feel like it's not too big of an issue to really matter in the end. By the time you are able to bhop with any consistently it's mostly muscle memory anyways, so seeing the side of your car hitting instead of a wheel shouldn't mess with you too much The devs are pretty welcoming of reproducible mechs for this game and afaik they have seen this and seem to like it, so it will probably be sticking around I think the game just needs better tips/tutorials, but that always tends to be an issue for any game. Most games struggle to have tips/tutorials that provide any substance to the top 5% of players and that's really the tipping point for when their tips start to go wrong. I do think an accurate speedometer would go a LONG way for making this game less obtuse to learn for newer players though, but that's probably just a pipe dream at this point lol
@Kiwi_0082 ай бұрын
Yeah, I tried with it with other cars but octane feels the best , I feel like the flatter the car, it's harder to do it, but I'm not a master at it, not even unreal in this season yet
@noobii4633Ай бұрын
@@deadlyDioji That's unfortunate, because you actually explained it yourself that this is unintended behavior by the 1:30 minute mark of this video. "Speedometer goes to 300 but clearly not that slow." Your skill is incredible, I won't deny that for a second, but the way this works is literally broken / game breaking and absolutely not how the developers intended for the game to be played, especially on the grounds of performing this overly complicated shit that 99% of players won't be able to replicate, and honestly shouldn't have to in order to play the game "properly". I'm confident that you're talking out your ass that the developers "like this" and that's simply fabricated bullshit on your part. Pics or it didn't happen.
@noobii4633Ай бұрын
Agreed completely, this "mechanic" is clearly unintended game behavior and Dioji actually says it himself in this video. Right at about 1:04, there's even some text plastered there stating "speedometer says 300 but clearly not that slow" which is LITERALLY the VERY DEFINITION of unintended game behavior. There's no way in hell the devs look at this kind of shit and go "Hmm, yeah, we totally meant for that to happen and we want players constantly rolling through entire races with the capability of completely ignoring hazards!" because that is honestly game breaking when you can even go so far as ignoring the consequences of hazards. Why even have them at that point?
@deadlyDiojiАй бұрын
@@noobii4633 TBF, the speedometer has never been attached to the speed of your car, whether bhopping or not, and was an intentional game design choice (a terrible one, but still a choice lmao). The catch up mechanic, drafting, side flipping, and any of the other mechanics cause the speedometer to be inaccurate, this just continues the trend The devs actually nerfed the hazards into the ground and have left them like that a couple months into the game, so they aren't *that* unhappy about the state of them. Ever since that update being in a turbo state or in the air has caused them to be negligible, so really this is no different imo I think hazards have always been a garbage addition anyways, most of the time they just ruin reasonable lines and are bad for both the casual and high level audiences. I think in most cases they are a crutch to make an uninteresting map "unique", rather than just making the map interesting in the first place

Got a question. Is front tire supposed to be harder than back tire? I learned on my own after just kinda seeing it amd thinking while I was away, and I am better at back trailing tire. Sooo... is it just me?
@deadlyDioji2 ай бұрын
I don't think either is necessarily harder, just different and sometimes our brains are weird about preferences lol. I originally learned with the back tire before switching to the front tire, and I've seen others learn with the front tire first. The reasons I recommended the front tire were I assumed that both are the same difficulty, but the front has the mild advantage of not needing to be as rotated for a drift, going down faster is easier with front imo, and I've found the most success with it so I'm biased lol I'd say if you can make it work go for it, you're not really stuck in your choice so there's no real harm even if there is a need to switch later
