I was feeling hopeless and lost before I found this video. A lot of professors rely on previously acquired mathematical knowledge on the student's part. They believe they can demonstrate the broad strokes and that the student should be able to intuit the rest. I can't tell you how much I appreciate videos like this. You live up to your screen name. my professor never did a negative on the gravity's value; and she kinda taught us that in the kinematic equations it's positive if it goes down and negative if it goes up
@stepbystepscience8 жыл бұрын
This can be a bit hard to explain here......but I think it would be fair to say that the acceleration due to gravity (g) always points in the negative direction (down). Two dimensional motion like this is basically free fall. When the object is moving up it is slowing down and when it is moving down it is speeding up. Try to get used to being consistent with your signs for velocity, displacement and acceleration and you should not run into any problems. Otherwise you may have to fudge this a bit sometimes. Does that help?
@davidbain7012 жыл бұрын
It's like the velocity in the X direction is the platform that you keep compressing against gravity like a sping , till you can't compress it any more .So the downward motion is the equal and opposite reaction so you still need the same platform to relay this force on the way down .
