I love S.A. jazz in general; it's probably my favorite form of jazz music. Whenever songs have lyrics or even just titles in some non-English language I always try to find out what they mean, but most of the time the online translators are unreliable and don't know the words and I don't know anyone who speaks any of the languages, Sesotho, Zulu or otherwise. Because of this, I was hoping someone could verify for me two things: 1) What does the title of this song mean, and what is it about? 2) I recently composed a song in a mbaqanga style and wanted to give it a title in Sesotho. I entitled it "Dumela Lehlabula," with the intended meaning being 'welcome summer'. Would anyone be so kind as to verify that the translation is correct and makes sense? I'd be much appreciative.
@nthatisilesala49148 жыл бұрын
+Poppy Raima this guy Bhudaza is not a South African, his home country is Lesotho. the tittle of the song is "tjontjobina" one of the Sesotho traditional beer
@poppyraima53428 жыл бұрын
+Nthatisi Lesala Thank you. I know he's from Lesotho but I've seen his music classified as S.A. jazz, so I don't know Lesotho has its own specific musical style.
