Bhumi Pujan in Villages - इसके बिना नहीं बनता कोई मकान

This video is showing bhujan ceremony. This ceremony is being held before start of building a house. This is an important Hindu ritual. The owner performs a puja and invokes gods to come over here and make this process trouble free.
Bhumi Pujan has a lot of significance among the Hindu rituals. On this occasion, the owner along with his wife completes the rituals. The priest or panditjee help them complete the rituals.
There is a great significance of performing bhumi pujan ritual as it is paying respect to the land of godess or Bhoomi Devi. The worship of other gods is also done but mother earth is the presiding deity on this occasion.
The pujan supposed to be bringing prosperity and a sense of wisdom to the house that is being constructed. This pujan brings some godly blessings and positivity to the land. With this pujan it is supposed that mother godess will remove all the obstacles in the path of construction of the house. So this ritual should be performed with the right rites, right time and right pujan ingredients. It is a way of feeling the house with positive energy.
It is the head of the family who performs the rituals of bhoomi pujan. He sits on the asanas along with his wife to perform the rituals. In this process he chants the mantra along with his wife. The priest guides you in completing the rituals.
There are several items required to perform the bhoomi pujan. Some of these ingredients are flowers, betel leaves, betel nuts, rice, coconut, green grass, camphor, earthen lamps, cotton buds, ghee, oil, gangajal, red thread, turmeric and panchdhaatu among the others.
Bhumi pujan is also a way to seek forgiveness of mother other. The owner seek forgiveness saying he is going to add some weight on earth. A silver serpent is kept in the foundation as in Hindu mythology it is believed that the mother earth is resting on the head of the serpent god Sheshnag.
Here we would like to shed some light on bhoomi pujan vidhi or process. These rituals may vary from region to region.
In the morning where bhumi pujan has to be performed is cleaned using gangajal. The priest and owner sits on the asana at the site. The priest faces north while owner faces east. Prayers to ganesha and other gods performed. Earthen lamps lit with oil and ghee is lit. Prayers to kalash (an earthen pot) and snake gods offered. Land is dug to fix some bricks there. Other materials are offered. Aarti is sung and with the distribution of prasad the bhoomi pujan is said to be complete.
