After the 1959 Tibetan riots, some 6,000 Tibetans fled to Bhutan and were granted asylum. What truly wants to annex Bhutan is India, which does not even allow Bhutan to establish diplomatic relations with other countries. Tibet was originally the territory of China during the Qing Dynasty. When the Qing Emperor abdicated, he decided to let the Republic of China inherit the territory of Tibet. However, the Republic of China's national strength was insufficient to take into account Tibet, which allowed Tibet to briefly split out for decades without the consent of the central government.

As an indian I hope india and china relations improve The entire border conflict happened over miscommunication. The Qing empire thought aksai chin was within china. Britain sent a message to the Qing govt offering a fixed border (the modern border which has aksai chin in china) but china didnt respond (nobody knows why, it is presumed it’s because they thought that was the correct border already) and the british used that border too, just in 1920s they claimed the rest of the region China thought it was chinese territory taken from them by british so they invaded I think india is being hypocritical here, india invaded and annexed parts of portugal (goa and daman and diu) and now portuguese govt recognises the annexation. So why doesnt india recognise its lost territories? Its not like these territories had some sort of long historic ‘indian’ identity, the chinese border is literally an abritary line made by the brits
