Hiking along a nature trail used by the monks of the Gangtey Monastery is a mystical journey. Known for its breath taking beauty, the Phobjikha Valley is one of the best kept secrets of Bhutan. The few tourists that visit this region are mostly foreigners, as I didn't see a single Indian tourist here.
The trek takes around 2 to 3 hours depending on how often you stop for pictures or simply to admire nature. Monks & travellers make their way from the Gangtey Monastery through dense pine forest, lush green meadows, flowery grasslands , flowing streams & picturesque villages to reach the bottom of the valley. This trail offers nature lovers a chance to admire the greenery & also indulge in some birdwatching.
There's more to see & explore in this beautiful valley, which is a biodiversity hotspot & a protected region. More on that in my next vlog, as I take you around the most beautiful valley in Bhutan.
