Steven Campbell I have been to Bhutan twice, have loved it both times. It truly is a beautiful country and I have stayed in touch with my tour guides since my first visit in 2007. Truly we have become family. If you ever have any questions, especially from some one who has been there, I'd be happy to help answer any questions you may have. You can not go wrong with any tour guide you choose, they are all very accommodating and very polite. I use Bhutan Exodus Tours when I go, the owner Sagar Gurung and his bother Suraj Gurung are wonderful.

Susie Berelsman Thank you Susie. I am willing but unable to travel at this time. Maybe next year though if all goes well. My wife has returned to study , Midwifery, which precludes all of 'our' spare time and takes all of our spare dosh too. We thought to visit friends in Vietnam, Thailand and then to Bhutan as a final gift to ourselves for being so hard working, good looking and humble. (Obviously I am a joker and a frivolous person.) In the last few days we are hearing about the terrible loss of life in Nepal and countries in that region which has caused us to rethink that it may be we could lend a helping hand in that area if we do travel next year. I have some mediocre building skills and she is an experienced nurse so we might find a place in a group going up to help. Cheers Steven.

Would like to request all NEPALESE trolls to stop writing trash on Bhutanese videos and sites. The so called Economic refugee is a long story. People have been to Bhutan and seen for themselves what Bhutan is like. We still have people of Nepalese background called Lhotsampas living in Bhutan who migrated about a few decades back. These trolls just want Bhutan to be absorved into a greater Gurkha land dream. Palden Drukpa.

Bhutan is a very unique country, the people are very peaceful and Bhutan is the only country in the world that has a ' happiness index ' to the Bhutan people, happiness comes first, happiness is the number 1 priority of the country ... sound like the legendary Shangri-La. And many thanks to King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck for keeping this country under control .... not much industrialization and the King is trying his best in keeping the surrounding environment as natural as possible.

We visited in September and the weather was almost perfect. However, we almost missed out on Tigers Nest, since it rained all day the day before our trek and our guide indicated it might be too slippery to try. Fortunately, it cleared up the next day (thank heaven) and we made it to Tigers without any problems and without hiking boots. You should have a wonderful time there.

I can't believe how much this looks like Far Cry 4's Kyrat. I know that was mostly inspired by Nepal and Tibet, but this is definitely more like Kyrat than those. Makes me want to play it. Even the damned art on the columns and archways is similar. That being said, Bhutan is breathtaking. And it's a real place!
