Yep! Without the ground-n-pound, Ritu's ground finishing game is a little anemic in terms of being able to get her opponents to the submit point. Crash course on BJJ basics to Blue belt level at least. Perhaps even more low kick leg striking from Ritu. And stamina work too so she doesn't get gassed out so soon! Three rounds doesn't give much time to get it done. If you want to do MMA, you must up your game. You cannot gain and retain a belt with just wrestling skills being brought to the table.

I am beginning to think that wrestling is the avoidance of fighting. I realize that it is necessary skill set, but it is boring when you don’t do anything once you get the takedown. Single leg, double leg, not that hard to defend against, and No attempt at submissions or anything. It had a nice run though. I am glad that B won this fight. I favor this rule set greatly over the UFC.

Why does some people think Ritu won? All she did were a bunch of takedowns and grappling while throwing in a few punches Bi was able to get herself out of a few of those grappling then came back punching, kicking, and dodging. Ritu focused too much on trying to find a opening so she could bring Bi down that she constantly gave Bi opportunities to get to her. Ritu also tired herself out trying to get Bi to stay down. Bi won this fairly.

Someone else brought it up: Bi won because she defended against not only many of Ritu's takedown attempts but she also managed to stave off Ritu's ability to control much of her usual ground-n-pound routines. Possibly that, plus Bi just simply had it stronger in the gas tank department than Ritu did which wore her out. In the ground game there's two ways to get after it: Either fast paced quickness or providing more and more pressure. Bi chose the latter that Ritu just couldn't find a solution for at the end of the day. The knee to Ritu's head in the third, even though she was successful in the takedown, did not help Ritu. I think she might have even been trying to stop things from spinning all around by that point. Like someone else mentioned: In an MMA bout, you cannot expect to be the winner with just one or two skill sets being brought to the table and then gas yourself out halfway through it all! I like both of these contestants. Much respect for each of them. But to claim the accolades, belts and everything else that could come with it all, you must step up your whole game or just stay home on the porch!
