I think what i understood was that the dead person at the beginning was Hungseyouk, the guy that the lawmaker thinks _she_ thinks he killed, but that actually was killed by her gang as we see at the end. My guess is that he was the local Kinpin and she is smiling at his funeral because now, nothing is standing in her way to become the new Kingpin
