Macaques are wonderful swimmers! There are about 175 macaques, baboons, and capuchins that live here in a Texas primate sanctuary, and the macaques all seem to know how to swim, even as tiny babies! Their swimming instinct is a powerful thing - they seem drawn to water, and it helps keep them cool in the hot Texas heat. Bibi has grown so strong through his shoulders and arms by swimming in his pool every day, and he enjoys it so much! I am sure the baby will grow up to be the same way. ❤🐵🐒❤

BB is so good with the baby. I love the way he talks to him. I had never heard him talk that way until the baby came out along. I do wish they had not gone swimming in the rain though. Zero supervision. Makes me so worried for their safety and the baby swims well, but should not be left with BB alone in the pool. Just in case. She is still so tiny. It’s no different than a human baby. You wouldn’t let a human baby swim in a pool unsupervised.

The way BiBi jumped when he woke up and didn’t see the baby monkey in the bed with him!! Ah, yes, I think all new mothers can relate to the unmistakable panic on BiBi’s little face. I’ve never seen him jump up so quick from sleep. And I wish I could sleep as hard as BiBi was sleeping when the baby monkey woke and started calling out! 😂 I loved, LOVED how he waited for her to get a good grip around him before he started walking on all fours. I am amazed with Bibi skills taking care of the baby each time I watch your videos! He's so nurturing for a male. All the credit goes to his family for allowing him to make his own decisions, teaching to be independent and truly showing Bibi he is part of the family and very loved! Best decision the family made when getting Bibi a companion! I love your channel!

Oops I spoke too soon. There goes the peacefulness. By the way, rain does not cause sickness…lowered resistance & germs do…so if your resistance is low and you get chilled you may be susceptible to the germs… stress lowers resistance also…Bi does NOT need any more stress! ❤️🐒❤️

For those watching, the vocalizations of the infant as it walked around the pool are very loud. It would have been calling that day it got “lost”. It would have been heard. Stump-tailed macaques, as adults, do not swim as well as other macaque species. They grow thick coats of fur that make climbing and swimming more difficult. Younger macaques, indeed macaques as a group are excellent swimmers.
