I remembered the story of the 10 lepers...only 1 came back to say "thank you", I quickly came back here to say a very massive THANK YOU!! I needed to make Carol Service Costume in 24 hours. The Spirit kept prompting me to go on KZbin and I prayed "Lord, help me find a very simple and quick one and I found this!!! This would be the perfect method for someone who does not sew or have the "arts and craft gene". I'm so glad I can sew, I just bought my pattern, linen/cotton blend fabric and dyes. Yes, I may be "old fashioned", but Home-Ec class did pay off! You'll never know the joy of sewing...

I made a ton of these for our Christmas play at church. I went ahead and sewed the edges instead of using glue. Afterwards, I embellished a little with some cording, ribbons, etc. They turned out perfect!!

This is the easiest way to make a tunic.

If you let the fabric glue dry for at least 2 days, you can run it through the washing machine, and it will be fine. Then air dry it.

You are a Nana life-saver!!! My 4 yr. old grandson wants an altar boy costume. I'm using a colored second-hand preschool graduation gown for the cassock, but was stumped about the white over-blouse part. I'll just use your idea, make the piece shirt-length, sew instead of gluing, and square the neck hole. He'll love it and I know he will wear it long after halloween! Thank you so much! Use a large bed sheet, either queen or king depending on the height of the person. A pillowcase with a rope around it is good for headware.

Very nice! I like the way people wore back in the old days, i'm muslim so the first thing that i type when i search them up is: "Old arab clothing". But i realized that searching for "biblical clothing" gives me better results. Absolutely love it!

Great Susan !! I am impressed ! You made it seem so easy. I have been doing research on the Tunic that Jesus wore and wondered why they describe it as "seamless"? After all, someone had to sew it so it would have strength and last a while.Can you imagine how it was made or what "weave" pattern was used? Herringbone weave was used on the Shroud of a fine linen.(3 X 1 ratio?) I am also referring to the Tunic of Tier which is on display.Jesus was about 6'3" according to the Shroud Of Turin measurements. It had to be large enough to cover a large Man...(I happen to be 6'3" as well) My favorite Jesus was Jeffrey Hunter in the movie "King Of Kings" back in 1961. I would love to have a robe made of special cotton or wool in Red or Blue, Or BOTH, with the Hoodie that isn't normally visible to wear as a house robe.(seamless ?) I wonder if the actual movie prop had a "hidden zipper" in the front? Anyway, it is the style and look that I am going for.Do you think you'd be interested in such a project? If so, maybe you can direct me to a person that does that kind of work? [e-mail]
