I believe it and have seen it in my own life. Every time I read my Bible I’m given a refreshing and revitalized look at my life all thanks to God and the Mercy brought to us by Jesus.

I know for myself this is very true, I try to read my Bible daily, and I ask God to help me understand and retain what I read. I am so thankful for the gift of his holy word.

If you want to stay mentally sharp as you grow older, daily Bible reading is what you need. Some people my age like to play online games, play bingo or do crossword puzzles to stay mentally sharp. Reading my Bible daily and praying gives me the strength to face the day whatever it may bring. Plus it helps my memory, informs my decision making and gives me the courage to face life's challenges.

I read one chapter of Proverbs and one chapter of Psalms every morning. I also play word games online during the day. Just before retiring for the night I read a portion of Scripture in a through-the-Bible-in-a-year plan.

I've heard this once, but experienced it - to me, before and even once believing, I considered the Bible "unreadable", like it literally didn't make sense to me and I attributed it to various translation errors and that one would have to learn Greek and Hebrew to truly get the answers. But something happened where I REALLY felt called. I could actually read it and it made perfect sense.

no this is just what they want you to believe to deceive you. god doesnt do mistakes god doesnt need to send a second messenger to set right what his first one said or fix the mistakes. god has preserved his book the first time. the bible is the most read, copied and studied book in the world. and you know whats the best thing. you dont need to believe me, you can read it for yourself and your heart and conscience which is within you by god will confirm what you read. ur heart, jesus and god are one.

Yea its been rewritten... so just dont read the Koran. Or the Book of Mormon... also the old and new testement has codes in it from the original hebrew greek texts , and every single book from the 66 books of the bible that have been compiled all mention Jesus in them, even the old testement is forshadowing Jesus ! God's word has come from outside time... look uo bible codes by chuck Missler. No one can debate that the bible is not the original words/ meaning.

What about listening to the Bible everyday? Does it have the same effect as Reading?
@emmahamilton8685
@emmahamilton8685 Жыл бұрын
I love listening to the Bible, but nothing takes the place of actually reading it. When you listen, it goes by faster. When you read you can soak in the word more. And there's something about that eye brain connection. You retain what you see more than just listening. A bonus is to read and journal what God has given you to understand. I have been doing that for 11 years now, and it is a blessing to look back and see answered prayer as well as the enlightenment that God gave me on a particular passage.

@@emmahamilton8685 There's nothing wrong with reading, but I think it's best to read or hear it out loud. In the time of Jesus people had no Bibles. They memorized scripture and that's how Jesus was also able to resist the devil when He was tempted. And many other jewish people in that day were used to get the scrolls read aloud to them. The same probably happend with the letters of Paul, because those first christians probably weren't able to read. So, memorizing and oral recitation was a very important part of the Jewish culture and the early christians.

I come from Cognitive Science. I believe this data, but would like to see this Study replicated of course, that is Science 101. But the control-group problem is, did you try this with the Quran or the Gita or other Scripture Sources where people use Emotionalism highly? The Word of God, in Jeremiah 17:9 (who in my view was the first Cognitive Scientist) says we cannot trust the emotional side of us, our "hearts are exceedingly wicked, WHO can know them?" He states. If this Study would FAIL when tested against the Quran or other Mysticism as a Control Group, the we have something SIGNIFICANT! I am a Born Again Christian and scholarship matters greatly, but as a Scientist who is not afraid to "test all things" this Study needs to be done Comparatively. If other forms of "scripture" are playing a role on the Emo side, then that's all we got. And my hypothesis is that you can get the same results with Scientologists, because God is Spirit and Truth and these Data Values, should be to His Glory as I'm sure UCKG has in mind. But again, until you compare the Stimulus to the Noise out there, its just fun stuff.

@@jackthe_tripper2544 Agreed! The Bible has been the number one best selling text for decades. It is thee-most analyzed text in history. The other "scriptures" become ridiculous pretty fast, once you know what occultism and New Age is all about! I'm glad the Lord sent unrefuted truth to us!
