Thanks for your explanation on Halloween, though we don't celebrate it in our country, but my mind is clear about it ---it is not a Christian celebration.

Thank you so much for your answer to the Halloween question. I came from a church where plenty of the members trick or treated together and I hadn't even heard of Christians not participating. When we moved to the south, it became such a huge point of tension between people and at first I decided to not do anything for Halloween ever again. But then, I realized that I wasn't making my decision due to a conviction from God but from conviction from the church and fear of what they would think of me. And that I'd definitely return to trick or treating if I ever moved back and attended my old church again. I pray every year that if the Lord doesn't want us to participate that he would make that clear to both my husband and I (im on his youtube account) and there just hasnt been true conviction about it, only plenty of shame from the church. This year I asked God to give me a reason on why Im not feeling conviction and I believe I may have been given an answer which I won't go into detail here as to not spark a debate. This year I have witnessed more bullying from Christians (and yes, bullying like calling other christians names and such if they do anything on halloween no matter how innocent) over Halloween than last year. It is refreshing to hear that Im not a lukewarm heathen because Im not convicted by the Lord on this. If people don't want to do it, thats perfectly fine and Ill support other christians in that choice as well as the Christians who do innocent obviously non pagan activities on October 31st.

Catholics have a good term for this type of situation: Scrupulosity ~ Almost, almost, like straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel. If one insists on looking for a boogeyman or demon under every rock and bush, eventually they may be liable (or believe so) that they have found one…. Perfect love casts out fear

Thank you so much, Pastor Paul. My family never celebrated Halloween. My children grow up now the age of 22,20, and 17. We turn off our lights and we put up a sign we don't celebrate Halloween. Praise The Lord.

Thank you for your reasonable take on Halloween. My father used to take us trick-or-treating. He was a genuine man of God, and I have nothing but loving memories from Halloween as a kid. It’s whatever you make of the day. Lately, I’ve heard so many church folks giving satan so much credit & attention on Oct 31st. Why think about him like that? God knows our intentions & hearts. Relax, enjoy the kids & eat some candy. If you can’t stop thinking about the devil and it makes you stumble, then don’t celebrate it. No big deal. 👻

I come from the church of Christ, which teaches salvation by water baptism and continued salvation by keeping the commandments. I have since believed the Gospel and the finished work of the cross, but I have many family members who still believe what I used to believe. I am concerned for their salvation, especially since my mother has passed on still believing these things. I have tried to share the Gospel with my sister, but she resists it

When people accuse the Bible of being written by man and therefore untrustworthy I always like to counter with "The Bible was written by the Holy Spirit and recorded by man." EDIT: the idea that books were removed from the Bible is a BIG catholic belief, especially the books of Macabees and Enoch.

The 7Deutero-Canonical Books were removed by Luther et al during the Protestant Revolt. They are still in Catholic Bibles. There are other books of an historical nature and edification outside of those. One is to discern, take what is needed and leave the rest….

1 Corinthians 6:3: Paul shares inspired insight into a time far in the future. The time when Christ’s anointed followers will be resurrected to be corulers with Christ. They will assist Jesus in carrying out God’s righteous judgments against wicked humans. (Revelation 17:14) Such judgments may also include the punishment of the wicked angels, who rebelled against Jehovah God!
