Actually, according to the candidate criteria laid out in Acts 1, Matthias *DOES* belong. I had to be someone who was with them from the baptism by John all the way through Christ's ascension.

Acts 1;21,22 states the stipulation for nominating a replacement apostle for Judas Iscariot. Verse 15 states there were 120 to choose from.You're answer is incorrect.

@@sallymiller1359 #1 Matthias was a qualified apostle. He wasn't an original, but that wasn't the question. #13 Galatians, Paul's first tour was the Galatian tour! Galatia was a region in Asia Minor, not a town.

@taradactyl5690 I'm curious. Are you referring to Q1 when speaking of Matthias? He Didn't walk with Jesus. And Galatia was part of Paul's 2nd tour.

@@craigslist474 The Galatian province included Lystra, Derbe, and Iconium. Which Paul initially founded on his first tour. He revisited them on his second tour. Acts 1, Peter wants to appoint a replacement apostle for Judas. Vs 15 states there were 120 disciples present. Vs 21,22 state the requirement for the new apostle. Choose someone who has been with us the whole time Jesus walked among us starting at his baptism up to his ascension. He must be a witness of Jesus ' ministry, a "first hand" witness like the other 11. Read Acts 1, look at a map of Paul's first tour.
