I picked up the black goatskin ( Lifeway sale) and it’s going to take a while to separate the pages because every page is color. But , I don’t mind, the quality and the translation is super good. Man , how I wish more pastors would buy the CSB and preach from it, especially Baptist ministers. Great review, it sells bibles!

Nice. That's a treasure. Thanks. It seems as if a few years ago, Holman decided to just take Bible printing and development seriously. We are blessed because of it!

I have the large print, thumb indexed, faux leather CSB Study Bible and it's quite large, but lovely! I was introduced to this version a few months ago and purchased a very basic, readers large print, for under $20, just to see if I liked it. It wasn't love at first sight because I am a KJV and NKJV person. But after persisting with it a couple of months, I began to become comfortable enough with it to buy the Study Bible. Fortunately I use a lap tray so size isn't an issue. And as an elderly person, I require large print now, so my Bible library is virtually growing in size! P.S. I enjoy the maps too!

I am new to the CSB bible, I been reading & studying from the NLT Life application study Bible, but as I have been reading the CSB bible it reads a lot like the NIV bible, I been the in the NIV bible for 15, 16 years.

Thanks for your insight. That is a good explanation for the care that the CSB translators took in their work.

I like the CSB Study Bible a lot. Sadly, as I have gotten old, I have arthritis in my hands and wrists, so it is too heavy and painful to use easily. The same can be said for most Study Bibles.!😢 I use personal sized, large print text and reference Bibles for personal use, and have Life Bible app, which has many Study packages.

I was blessed to be able to purchase several new books for my library. This goatskin study Bible was one of them. I did not get it on sale so it was spendy but totally worth it.

That is wonderful! Enjoy it, remembering the word of God is the only book when the Author is present while we read it!

Between the the CSB SB and the updated NIV, which bible has a edge on helping the believer understand and apply scripture ? Also , which bible is better made, for quality sake( the long haul?).

Thanks for the review! I love the CSB as a translation too! I'm seriously considering buying the CSB Study Bible now! But I think there are two or three things I don't like about it or at least I'm not sure: 1. It's double column. I wish it was single column so that the biblical text is front and center and also so that it's easier to read. But I know that might mean it'd be an even bigger Bible than it already is, which in turn the publisher probably wouldn't want to do since I assume it'd cost more to print more paper. 2. It's red letter. Is there a black letter edition only? If there is, that'd solve this problem! I definitely prefer black letter text since I don't like highlighting Jesus's words that way as if to suggest his words are somehow more special than the rest of the God-breathed words in the Bible. 3. Hebrew/Greek. This is more of a nitpick and definitely not a dealbreaker or anything. But I wish they had printed the actual Hebrew/Greek term in the boxes that define and explain the meaning of a Hebrew/Greek term. 4. CSB Everyday Study Bible. I already have this Bible. I got it brand new for super cheap during a sale. Like $20 or maybe even less. My understanding is the CSB Everyday Study Bible is just a trimmed-down version of the CSB Study Bible. So I'm not sure it's worth upgrading, so to speak? Maybe it is, since it looks like one big difference is there's color in the CSB Study Bible, and I definitely prefer color in my maps, pictures, diagrams, tables, etc.

I completely understand. I can take or leave the red print, but I wonder if the large print one puts it in one column. I'm also with you on your #3. It would be so nice if they added that actual greek or Hebrew in. I haven't checked the CSB Everyday so that makes me curious about it too. Thanks for your thoughtful insights!

Is it me or does the CSB bible read like the NIV? It’s a 2017 bible & reads like the ‘84 NIV & also it should be updated with Luke 1:37 For the word of God will never fail. The update 2011 NIV has that & updated NLT has that but it the original scripture of Luke 1:37 For nothing will be impossible with God. Which is better & idk they changed it??
