He was in pride, and doing idolatry as much as the Babylonians. It is fine to glory in God,brag about our God’s faithfulness and blessings, but he wasn’t given God the Glory, so then it was to please himself, nor should they have entered his home. The only relationship with them should have been to rebuke them or being given the words from God.. nor being friendly.
