Thank you father for your Orthodox teachings. I don't understand how Peter could say in his gospel that Jesus was silent during his crucifixion when in fact he wasn't even there. From what l understand John was the only apostle who was there and witnessed it all. How come in the creed they say " he was crucified for us under Pointus Pilote" as opposed to Caiphus or other Jewish priests and Pharisees who clearly wanted him dead.

In His divinity He does not feel pain but His human nature feels pain, and He the Person Who has the two Natures, experiences what experiences are appropriate to each nature. Mary giving birth without corruption means not losing the hymen to tearing, not no blood or no pain necessarily.

Matthew would have been translated to Greek probably under the direction of The Apostle Matthew.
