On January 24, an exceptional trial with huge attention was held in the Helsinki District Court. MP Päivi Räsänen and Bishop Juhana Pohjola of the Mission Diocese were accused of incitement of a group
This program goes through the trial. Although the prosecutor in her opening remarks emphasized that the Bible is not charged, the Bible's understanding of sin was thoroughly reviewed and excerpts from the Old Testament were read to support the prosecutor's view.
The most confusing thing was that the prosecutor claimed that Räsänen had written or said things that she had not actually said and as such would be completely on contrary to her convictions. Was it unprofessionalism or intentional misrepresentation?
Now we hear Räsänen's and Pohjola's view of what happened in the courtroom.
